TUTORS AND TOPICS FOR SESSIONS
The Tutor Team, has now been assembled and briefed on the FUNDACE visit, the lecturers and their subjects will be as follows;
1]Business in the UK –an overview
A brief history of sectors, industries and a look at current trends in the UK . This session sets the scene for the visits and for the other speakers and their topics.
Tutor; Mike Hyde, who was previously Head of the Business School and now works on a variety of strategic college projects.
2]Human Resource Management in the UK .
A detailed, yet strategic look at the HR function including recruitment, selection and staff development against a background of European legislation.
Tutor; Paul Francis, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
3]Leadership and Management
A session looking at the shift of emphasis towards leadership and transformation of organisations, and the importance of developing teams and individuals.
Tutor Debbie Filgate, a qualified Barrister and tutor at Bournville College .
4]Investment Appraisal and Budget Control
In a time of global uncertainty, the focus will be on financial planning and investment in the current climate.
Tutor Paul Evans , formerly a Senior Financial Executive with a major utility and now Finance Lecturer in the Business School .
5] Marketing Trends in the UK
Looking at recent trends in marketing and advertising and how value for money, measurement and marketing metrics are increasingly important.
